Today, Tine, Oliver, and I met up at The Fort for a little catching up. Tine was late (for an hour!!!) so we weren’t able to really spend much time with Oliver (who now goes by the name “Jholiver”) whose working schedule is so strict. We had lunch at Pasto, an (obviously) Italian restaurant along The Fort Strip.
What I had:

I was quite intrigued because I usually just have the normal pasta (Spaghetti/Carbonara), but eggplants? I was happy the flavors got along well. I just wished I could’ve changed the pasta from penne to fettucine. I can’t seem to appreciate tube noodles/pastas.
What Tine had:

I’m inggit of that dash of mescarpone.
What we bought for Oliver to snack on at work:

Aren’t we the sweetest friends? Haha! I love how this pizza is so thin and light, unlike those we usually find in other pizza chains (too much dough!). I absolutely love caramelized onions (I frankly don’t understand my sister who doesn’t like them), and I find it rather good that there’s a kick of spice somewhere in there.
Not gonna post random jeje photos of us. Haha!
Went to Megamall right after to have dessert. Tine and I were supposed to watch Unofficially Yours, but then the next screening time scheduled was at 4:50PM, and we’re supposed to have gone home by that time. So we just roamed around Forever 21, SM Department Store, and finally had dessert. Still so bitter that the macaroons at French Baker were sold out, we went to Bake and Churn to have ice cream cake instead.
A bulk of what we talked about today was about our respective jobs, and it’s quite alarming (naks) that my friends are not super enthusiastic about their current jobs. Well, whoever said we’d land our dream jobs on our first try? In time, I hope they find themselves passionately working somewhere they’re happy, but for now, live the moment. It sucks to work 12 hours a day and be underpaid (or be under a lot of stress), but there’s more to learn in that time than waiting idly by the phone, waiting for that call from your dream company’s HR manager. :)
Random blurb: I hate that I don’t know how to survive without taking a cab in BGC. Took the cab four times today! @_@
I love pasta. I love cooking pasta. I cook pasta…
Today, I made spaghetti (even if we didn’t have spaghetti sauce) for my sister (she’s the house’s Madam-boss for the meantime). So instead of buying spaghetti sauce, I just made do with whatever that’s available in our kitchen, diced tomatoes and a tiny pouch of tomato sauce (as in tiny). It’s all tomatoes that’s why it looks…liquid-ish? Basta not the usual consistency of the sauce when you actually put spaghetti sauce.
In fairness, I (and my sister) liked how it turned out. My sister finished her plate before I could even sit down! It’s super light, I don’t feel bloated like how I usually feel after eating a plate of pasta. I assume it’s also healthier? :)
